Camera shy singer Sia has launched a public attack of Kanye West's use of fur in his wardrobe and fashion collections.

The Cheap Thrills singer has used Twitter to push for the end of the rapper's utilisation of  animal pelts, labelling the practice 'sad' and linking to a graphic video of rabbits being skinned.

Sia's outburst comes after Kanye debuted his Yeezy Season 5 collection at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, which appeared to contain several fur coats and accessories.

Sia tweeted at the rapper turned fashion designer soon after his show debuted, begging him to stop the use of fur.

'Dear @kanyewest would you consider going fur free? This is the reality of fur for fashion - it's so sad,' the notoriously private songwriter tweeted.

She linked the rapper to a Youtube film titled Under The Fur Coats: Rabbits' Screams Of Death.

The Australia singer's plea was also supported by animal rights activists PETA, who also tweeted: '@Sia Agreed, the reality of the fur industry is so heartbreaking @kanyewest Please go #furfree.'

Sia also tweeted the same video at Kim Kardashion last June: 'Hey @KimKardashian I think you're lovely. Would you consider going fur free? This is what animals go through for it.'

Kanye's first fashion collection since his nervous breakdown included several fur coats and accessories, however, Vogue magazine reported at least one of the items was faux fur.

Fans: Kim and Kanye are both fans of wearing fur

Meanwhile Kanye and his wife Kim's family (with the vocal exception of anti-fur campaigner Khloe) have been longtime wearers of the animal product.
