She previously said she considers it a major compliment to throw a shoe at a performer. 

And Jennifer Hudson must have been feeling pretty flattered during a recent concert.   

The singer was performing in Boston on Friday night when a man's shoe was hurled at her — not from the crowd, but by a member of her own crew.

'I told my crew I said lord people r going to start throwing shoes at me after @nbcthevoice and yal that just what happened tonight ! I got my first shoe thrown at me tonight !' she captioned the clip she herself posted on Instagram.

After contestant Chris Weaver sang Try A Little Tenderness, JHud appeared to do the exact opposite and flung a silver platform heels at the hopeful.

As it were, the New York native was only one of two to get all four chairs to spin on the night.

And the gambit seemed to work too, as her chose her as his preferred coach over Miley Cyrus, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, she explained why having the Dreamgirls star's footwear flying in your direction is actually a good thing.

'It is a compliment, at JHUD productions it’s a compliment,' she told the host.

'If you move me enough that I remove my shoe to throw it at you, you have done something just amazing. It’s equivalent to a standing ovation.'
