Republican L. Scott Frantz has grown a new branch on his family tree, courtesy of late night funnyman Jimmy Fallon.
“The Tonight Show” host razzed the Greenwich pol during his opening monologue Thursday night, though not by name.
Well, at least not by Frantz’s surname.
“You see this? A Connecticut state senator who named one of his sons after Mount McKinley went on a rant against President Obama’s decision to change the mountain’s name this week,” Fallon said.
Then came the punchline from Fallon. And it had the audience in stitches.
“Though, he’s still not as upset as his other son, Lake Titicaca,” Fallon said.
Other targets of Fallon’s one-liners included Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Anthony Weiner.

Republican state Sen. L. Scott Frantz, representing the 36th District, at Cos Cob Park in the Cos Cob section of Greenwich, Conn., Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
All four of Frantz’s children are named after mountains, as Hearst Connecticut Media first reported earlier this week when the president restored Mount McKinley’s name to Denali to soothe tensions between native Alaskans and the federal government.
Frantz, who also represents parts of Stamford and New Canaan, has summited several of the world’s tallest mountains, including McKinley in 1997.
“I don’t appreciate the change at all,” Frantz told Hearst. “My kids are named after mountains in Alaska, and they’re taking that one away. I say that with tongue in cheek.”
Frantz said Friday he had yet to see “The Tonight Show” episode.
